Fretless Bass If Marco is the head of the Blue Heat beast, then Graeme, along with his brother Barry, is its heart and soul.
While most bass guitarists play the more conventional fretted electric bass, Graeme betrays his jazz origins through his use of the instrument's fretless form. While more difficult to play, the fretless bass offers its master a near infinite number of note variations, and Graeme is most definitely the master. You may not notice Graeme's presence on stage, since he tends to stand to one side, or at the back, but take away the rock-solid wall of sound that emanates from his bass, and you would surely notice his absence.
